These last two days I have been hit with a cold or an asthma flare. I am not sure which and it has the same effect. I have to stay inside out of the heat and humidity. I live in the middle of the prairies that are normally known for being dry, but when I dared to step outside yesterday for a quick trip to the store, it was like stepping into a sauna. Ugh! If my lungs would actually function properly, this would be a great time for taking the girls to the spray park or setting up the sprinkler in the back yard. Instead I have been inside reading and creating. Last week, I wrote about Christmas in July. I have a few partially completed projects from that and one ready to print. I'm thinking the grandparents might like a personalized ornament like this for Christmas this year. My plan after printing is to adhere these to a sealer lid, add some ribbon and hang it on the tree. One of the projects that is started is a garland for the front of the piano. It will be made with various shaped album pages and photos of the extended family. I plan to tie it all together with some fun ribbon. When it is complete, I will post a picture. The other projects that I have been working on are regular scrapbook pages. I have so many pictures to scrap with, I think I could live to be a hundred and never catch up. I need to figure out a better way to get some of these off of the computer and into the hands of my family so they can be enjoyed. My dilemma is that I scrap for two competing reasons. One reason I scrap is for the artistic and creative outlet. I love trying new things. The other reason I scrap is to tell the story that goes with the pictures. I think I will start using some quick pages and templates to quickly scrap some of the memories and intersperse those with my current pages. But this is one of those things that was causing restlessness this week. This is a page from last year's vacation. For the last few years we have been traveling on our anniversary. In 2006, it started well but ended poorly. Last year, we had a very nice evening. Silvia Romeo's Travelog kit provides the backdrop for my reminiscing. The journaling can be read here.
