(NECN) - Stocks fell Monday, on word of a dip in consumer spending in June. By the close the numbers were still off. The Dow Industrial average fell 42 points to 11,284. The Nasdaq Composite was down more than 25 points to finish at 2,285. The S&P 500 fell more than eleven points to finish at 1,291. Regionally Bloomberg's New England Index lost four points to finish a hair over 391. The New England Tech Stock Index dropped a point to finish just under 104.
