Proving it is possible to take a summer vacation this year without breaking the bank, Expedia just announced its largest ever hotel promotion, with discounts of up to 50 percent. As part of the last days of summer "Half Off Hotel Sale," more than 125 participating hotels are offering 50 percent off stays of four nights or more. Additionally, hundreds of other hotels and all-inclusive resorts are offering at least 30 percent off in popular vacation destinations all over the U.S., including Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Chicago, Orlando, Hawaii and San Francisco, as well as properties in Mexico, Canada, South America and the Caribbean. Just a few examples of the deals found only in Expedia's Half Off Hotel Sale include: Stratosphere Tower Casino & Resort Hotel, Las Vegas, as low as $41/night for stays of 3+ days Blue Heron Beach Resort, condo-style hotel near the Orlando theme parks, air/hotel package from Chicago as little as $655/person GR Solaris Cancun & Spa, 4-star, all-inclusive resort in Cancun, Mexico, save 50 percent off 4+ night stay, from $683/person FDR Pebbles, Montego Bay, Jamaica, 4-night air/hotel package from New York from $780 Kaanapali Beach Club Resort, book a beachfront suite on Maui from $318/night for 3+ nights An additional incentive for travelers planning time in the car, Expedia has also expanded its Free Gas promotion. Anyone who books four or more hotel nights on Expedia will receive a free $75 Gas Money Prepaid MasterCard redeemable at virtually all gas stations. Travelers who book three hotel nights will receive a complimentary $50 card, and those who book two nights will receive a $25 card. The Half Off Hotel Sale applies to hotel stays booked now through September 2, with travel until September 30.
