You would treat a sofa bed and mattress like a regular one -- with a little added attention. Using the mattress attachment, give it a good vacuuming on both sides. Spot treat any stains. If it does have a cover, follow the label for washing instructions. Getting the mattress itself wet isn't a good idea if you can help it as it's really hard to completely dry. If you can take it outside, that will help freshen it up. If you haven't already done this, a good step to keep it as clean as possible moving forward is to add a mattress pad or cover. Launder/change the linens every week as you would for a regular bed.
