I have had these linen panels sitting in a box waiting to be used for months, but when they were given to me by a friend they didn't have a rod to go with them. Instead of rushing out to buy one, I decided to be creative and make my own curtain rod with supplies that I had laying around the house. I used binder rings, rope, nails and picture hangers, and viola! my windows have been treated! First, I made sure that I used several strands of rope tied off in a big knot on either end. Next, I nailed the knot to the wall on each side (make sure to measure the rope before tying the second knot to fit the length of the wall). The middle drooped some so I hung a picture hook from the ceiling to hold up the middle portion. Finally, I clipped on my binder hangers that were already on the curtains. It's easy, inexpensive, and adds something a little different to your everyday window treatments.
