Being one of the Shakti peethas, the Nalhateshwari temple is the prime attraction of Nalhati. Built by Rani Bhabani, the ancient temple consists of four thatched roodfs under which a stone is worshipped as Goddess Sati. The temple is set on the top of a small hillock, which is close to the Nalhati railway station and is thus easily reachable for people. Large numbers of Hindu devotees gather at the temple premises almost throughout the year to pay homage to the Goddess. Nalhati is situated on the bank of Brahmani river, which too offers a wonderful sight to the tourists. Being a town in Birbhum, tourists can easily reach other noted tourist spots like Shantiniketan, Tarapith, Fullara, Sainthia, Bakreshwar, Kankalitala and Rampurhat.
