1. Washington, DC is recession proof. The federal government isn't going to relocate to China. Government agencies have not experienced significant cuts to their budgets despite 8 years of a Republican administration and many years of Republicans running the Congress. Government agencies continue to hire qualified people for positions because the money budgeted for jobs has to be spent. Government spending has a trickle down effect in the Washington, DC area. Retail, restaurants, service contractors continue to get the money as long as Uncle Sam keeps pumping out tax-payer money to the wonderful people of Washington, DC.
