England begin the Ashes Series with the first Test Match at the Swalec Stadium in Sophia Gardens against an Australia side that want to wipe away the memory of their 2005 loss of the Ashes when last played for in England.
What a coup - after years of hard work by Glamorgan, the Council and the Welsh Assembly this is a huge International event and a first for Wales.
The match will hopefully be a five day thriller with an England victory to kick off the series on the journey to repeat the amazing 2005 Series win.
In a recent survey in secondary schools in England, asking children which sport they want to watch live on TV, cricket came at 21st position!
No doubt cricket is fast losing favor among youngsters of nation whose grandfathers started the sport but there's also no doubt when England vs Australia Ashes 2009 test match starts, world cricket fans will be watching."
