CINCINNATI (Reuters) - Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic began the recovery which he hopes will lead him to another big title by surviving two mini-crises and reaching the last 16 of the Masters Series on Wednesday.

Second-seeded Rafael Nadal and third-seeded Novak Djokovic advanced Thursday at the $2,615,000 Rogers Masters in Toronto, but sixth-seeded Andy Roddick wasn't as fortunate to get out of the third round.

TORONTO (Reuters) - Rafael Nadal and defending champion Novak Djokovic eased into the last eight of the Toronto Masters on Thursday, while a racket-smashing Andy Roddick suffered a shock upset.

Novak Djokovic remains on course to repeat as the Rogers Cup champion.
